Cleaning and maintaining your carpets in topnotch condition especially in offices is no child’s play. Buying carpets is an investment and everything should be done to take proper care of them. Here are some easy and simple tips for carpet cleaning and maintenance:

Be vigilant: Clean spills immediately

The first and the simplest rule: clean spills immediately. Follow the carpet manufacturer’s spill-care instructions and use a compatible treatment. Avoid aggressive rubbing; ask for advice when the material or stain is uncertain.

Stain protector

A protector is an optional treatment to discuss, not a substitute for routine cleaning. A compatible protector may help with some spills; it does not make a carpet stain-proof. It is best to take the advice of a professional who can guide you the best product keeping in mind the material of your carpet.

Carpets re-arrangement

Where practical, changing furniture positions can redistribute traffic. Movable rugs and installed wall-to-wall carpet are different: do not attempt to rotate installed carpet. Consider access, trip hazards and the room layout before moving anything.

Use rugs

Suitable entrance mats can collect tracked-in soil. Keep them clean, secure and positioned so they do not create a trip hazard or obstruct access.

Vacuuming is a must

Regular vacuuming removes loose soil; it does not prevent all wear. In fact, vacuum your carpet more frequently around the areas that get maximum foot traffic.

Plan periodic professional cleaning around the carpet’s condition and care requirements.
